Approach
Services at Mayfair Counselling are generally done intensively, with a typical first session lasting three to four hours, with subsequent sessions lasting three hours. And because these issues don’t always occur at a time of convenience, Giezelle makes every effort to meet clients as quickly as possible, in the evening or on weekends. Her schedule is designed to work with her patients’ needs and inquiries are always responded to promptly. Personal and family life is complex, and change-oriented, intensive, brief therapy service is the most beneficial approach. Giezelle’s patients typically do six to eight of these sessions over a short period of time so they can find better resolve, sooner. This extended meeting allows her to dig deep and discover what is working in their current situations and what is not.
Philosophies
Giezelle values relationships and believes that healthy relationships are paramount to a full life. An experienced Calgary counsellor since 1990, she also believes that almost any relationship can be strengthened through timely professional support. In fact, using current and research-validated models people can typically find empowerment and their own solutions. Married for over 40 years herself, Giezelle’s believes relationships are a process, and always worth trying to save, especially when difficulties arise.
